Founder

Mar Shal, President & CEO

Mark has spent over 25 years at the forefront of medical infusion pump technology. As Senior VP of QA/RA and Supply Chain at Curlin Medical in 2005, he built out Southeast Asian manufacturing capability — training and qualifying Medpro (Thailand) as a supplier for Curlin's administration sets.

In 2006, Mark developed the DHF and 510(k) for an elastomeric infusion pump that Medpro (Thailand) later took to market. That pump was acquired by B. Braun in 2009 and is sold today as Easypump. Epic Medical subsequently replicated the design, marketing near-identical variants under names like EZ-FLOW, MEDI-FLO, and SmartEZ.

Having lived through that design's real-world limitations, Mark assembled a team — including one of the original Iflow engineers — to reengineer the device from the ground up. The result is InfuLife®, a next-generation elastomeric pump that outperforms legacy designs across every key metric:

  • 50% less fill pressure — easier and faster for clinicians to prepare
  • Fewer components + a patented compression seal — significantly lower leak risk
  • 9–12% pump-to-pump variation vs. the industry's 15–20% — meaningfully more accurate dosing
  • Higher resolution delivery — more consistent flow throughout the infusion

Mark now leads First Medical Source, LLC, bringing InfuLife to market with the highest commitment to quality and on time delivery, and the same rigor that he brought to Curlin Medical.
